A group of Muslim women organizes an online forum for justice

With International Women’s Day being celebrated on March 8, the Grasslands Chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Women’s Association is hosting a virtual interfaith symposium on the theme “Justice in an Unjust World”.

Media spokesperson Maham Ana Malik sees growing uncertainty and global unrest as their vindication.

“Especially with Ukraine. It’s so hard for everyone, especially Ukrainian Canadians and their children, and how we can help them and how we can hold each other accountable and bring justice and support each other.

Malik says their organization seeks to show support for anyone in crisis and distress by highlighting the voices of women who promote peace, tolerance and compassion for all.

“So we thought that topic is a very relevant topic right now, and having a program that addresses that would be absolutely ideal.”

Speakers are four women representing religious diversity and professional expertise.

Malik says they aim to build connections with shared respect and mutual understanding, regardless of race, religion, creed or color.

Anyone wishing to participate can register for the free virtual session on Sunday March 6 at EventBrite starting at 16h
