Call for projects: content of the Cav’ Platform site

Content packages should focus on the business and entrepreneurial aspects of the industry. This is to provide the website with industry-specific content that reflects the needs of African creatives. Content should be separated into three segments that can stand on their own and be released in three different months, e.g. three chapters of an animation studio management toolkit to be released in May, June and July 2022.

This call for proposals focuses on three African countries including South Africa, Kenya and Senegal, as they are part of the global CCI project implemented by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit) and supported by BMZ (German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development).

The context

The Cav’ platform was established in 2019 and focused on curated content relevant to ICC in South Africa. In 2022, the initiative aims to expand this scope and include the project’s partner countries, Senegal and Kenya, with two innovative Content Packages linked to the business and entrepreneurship aspects of the CCI, which reflect the transnational orientation of the Platform. About Cav’Platform

Cav’ Platform is a South African project, which is part of a global project in the CCI, initiated in six countries by the Goethe-Institut in partnership with GIZ, including three in sub-Saharan Africa. The objective of this project is to contribute to existing efforts in the CCI by enabling creative organizations and small businesses to generate income. This is implemented through research-based animation industry ecosystem dialogue forums and a website.

Duration and budget

Complete content package requirements must be submitted within two months of signing the contract. The three contents will be programmed at the discretion of the Cav’ Platform for three consecutive months in 2022. The available budget is between €1,800 (around $2,000) and €2,800.

Content specifications

  • Content can be from any creative industry as long as it can sit on a website. Thus, it must be text, PDF or video.
  • The content must be accompanied by royalty-free images that relate to it.
  • The content should focus on the entrepreneurial/business aspects of the industry, eg toolkit, how-to videos, podcast, etc.).
  • Content must be innovative and currently relevant to the industry.
  • All content must be in English.
  • The content package consists of individual elements related to each other.
  • The content provider must have an online presence to link the content of the Cav’ Platform to the content creator’s platform.
  • The content creator’s platform can take the form of a website, podcast, YouTube channel, etc.
  • The content creator must be willing to promote Cav’ Platform on their online platform.

Documents to submit

  • Detailed Resume / Resume detailing your relevant experience as required.
  • Proposal of two to three pages. It should highlight the relevance of the proposed content package, intermediaries focused on innovation, entrepreneurship and/or business aspects of CCI.
  • Detailed budget
