Muscat: A ceremony was held on Wednesday to mark the launch of Qadiroon (able), the first electronic platform for people with disabilities.
The platform hosts 100 sustainable projects and aims to dedicate specialized points of sale for shopping and direct electronic sales of all types of products of interest to people with disabilities.
The launch took place during the “Qadiroon” forum, held today under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Fahr bin Fatik Al Said and attended by officials and representatives of relevant departments.
The forum, organized by the Ministry of Labor in cooperation with the company Asas Muscat, discussed ways to establish sustainable projects that empower people with disabilities, especially in the field of entrepreneurship according to their experience and capacities. .
During the forum, a cooperation agreement was signed between Asas and Ishraqa Institute (a Khimji Ramdas wing for social development). The agreement includes training and rehabilitation programs to empower people with disabilities.
The forum discussed indices and statistics on people with disabilities in the Sultanate of Oman, as well as the efforts made by government and private institutions to help this segment of society to solve the problems they might face on the labor market.
