ALEXANDRIA, La. (LBM) – Louisiana Baptists are invited to recommend candidates to serve on state convention boards and committees, and are invited to submit resolutions for possible consideration by messengers at the Baptist Convention in Louisiana of 2022.

The Louisiana Baptist Committee on Committees will begin work early this fall to fill 17 vacancies on five state congressional committees: Powers; Moral and social concerns; nominations; Order of business; and Resolutions.
Nominations should be sent no later than August 12 to Jake Roudkowski, Acting Pastor, First Baptist Church, Zachary, who is the Chair of the Committees Committee. Please forward your recommendations by email, [email protected], or US Mail, Dr. Jake Roudkowski, 78689 Hwy. 25, Folsom, LA 70437.

The Louisiana Baptist Nominating Committee will begin work, also in early fall, to fill 18 vacancies on the LBC Board of Trustees as well as the governing bodies of Louisiana Christian University, Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and Family Ministries, the Baptist Message and the Baptist Foundation.
Nominations should be sent by August 12 to Ron Thompson, Member, First Baptist Church, Natchitoches, and Coordinator, District Eight Baptist Convention which includes Desoto, Natchitoches, N. Please forward your recommendations by email, [email protected], or US Mail, Dr. Ron Thompson, PO Box 2880, Natchitoches, LA 71457.

Please submit the nominee’s name and identify the committee or council for which you are nominating; and include information about the applicant’s church membership and current employment.
Nor can the pastor and two members of any church serve on all boards and committees, combined, at any time. Likewise, no more than one member of the same church may serve on the same board or committee at a time.

The first meeting of the Resolutions Committee is scheduled for September 1 and submissions should be sent as soon as possible for consideration. Resolutions may be submitted for review and consideration no more than 90 days and no less than 15 days prior to LBC’s annual meeting on November 15, providing a window of opportunity from August 17 to October 31.

All statements must be typed, titled and dated, and accompanied by a letter – from a church qualified to send a messenger to the Louisiana Baptist Convention annual meeting – certifying that the person submitting the resolution is a member in rule. The letter should include full contact information for the submitter and their church.

No one may present more than three resolutions per year.
