Miami message boards are over with Mario Cristobal amid upset MTSU offer

Miami football fans on the Hurricanes message boards have had enough of seeing Mario Cristobal with MTSU take a big lead in the first half.

Mario Cristobal was supposed to be the one who brought Miami back to its former glory. So far, he’s struggling with that.

A week after suffering a loss to Texas A&M, the Hurricanes had a great chance to bounce back and do well with visiting Middle Tennessee State.

The Blue Raiders decided not to follow the script. They took a 21-point lead and entered halftime leading 24-10.

Miami message boards turned to Mario Cristobal

Miami fans turned their anger on Cristobal for the embarrassing showing.

The Oregon fanbase got nothing but nods and “I told you so” remarks.

There is no doubt about Cristobal’s ability to recruit. He is among the elite in this regard. However, questions about his in-game coaching ability have followed him from FIU to Oregon and now Miami.

He might just need more time to get things done for the Hurricanes, but fans won’t want to be too patient. Even a transitioning Miami team should be able to handle business against MTSU. This is especially true considering the valid concerns about Cristobal’s ceiling.

He was able to win Pac-12 championships with the other conference powerhouses like USC and Washington in free fall. However, he was never able to really put the Ducks in the running for the national championship. This is where Miami fans want to be. This is where Cristobal must take them. If he can’t, he won’t be in Miami long.
