MTE 2022 Conference: Relevant topics, presented by the best specialists

Six weeks away from the third edition of the MTE conference, preparations are well underway and we are pleased to bring you the highlights of the conference.

MTEC 2022 will be held at the President Wilson Hotel; a functional and easily accessible place located on the shores of Lake Geneva and offering great gastronomy.

More than 30 speakers from all over Europe have confirmed their participation. They represent leading shipowners, shipowners or charterers such as MSC – Mediterranean Shipping Company, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs or Balearia, high-tech companies (Daphne Technology, WinGD…), fuel or fuel processing suppliers ( TotalEnergies Marine Fuels, Aderco…), company certification (RINA, Lloyds Register) and many others.

The conference will be opened by the State Councilor in charge of the economy, Mrs. Fabienne Fischer. The opening speech will be given by offshore sailor François Gabart, the fastest man in the world using renewable energies. And the whole conference will be chaired by Richard Watts, director at HR Maritime and president of the Propeller Club Geneva.

On the evening of the first day, all delegates will enjoy a pleasant cruise aboard one of our partner CGN’s historic liners.

Don’t miss the opportunity: it will be an exceptional event!

A solid program and excellent speakers
The MTE conference will start on September 26 at 9:00 a.m. with a look at the energy transition in the maritime sector.

What are the fuels of the future, what technologies will take off? Among other things, we will hear about hydrogen, biofuel or LNG.

Specific case studies will be devoted to “the way to decarbonisation”. They will take into account the role of port authorities, with the interesting example of the port of Amsterdam.

Wind propulsion will be discussed, while an original panel discussion bringing together some of the world’s leading personalities in the field will discuss how sailing racing can contribute to the decarbonisation of the maritime industry.

The second day of the conference will be introduced by an eminent speaker. It will be devoted, among other things, to regulatory complexity. Financial aspects and carbon credits will be other highlights of the day, with also a focus on concrete options and strategies for the existing fleet.
