Lucknow: Learning about history is likely to get ‘cool’ with the launch of an online forum – WebGuruCool – by a group of researchers from the Department of Ancient Indian History and Archeology in India. University of Lucknow.
The forum provides a platform for history students from across the country to present their research, hold discussions, and engage in lively debate by inviting live comments and suggestions.
This move, the students said, will not only strengthen research and publication in the field of history, but also make the topic easy and interesting for students.
âWe have sessions every second and fourth Saturday of the month on WebGuruCool. An academic gives a presentation of approximately 30 minutes followed by a live discussion with comments, questions and suggestions from the audience. For now, the forum is informal, but can pave the way for a hybrid education model in which offline and online courses can be mixed, âsaid Professor Prashant Srivastava, professor in the history department of ancient India, LU.
Often, students and teachers from other colleges and universities also connect during these online sessions. The platform will also launch from Saturday a special series of online lectures by experts from across the country in memory of renowned archaeologist Professor DR Bhandarkar. The Dean of the School of Historical Studies at Nalanda International University, Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh will deliver the first lecture in this series.
