Ten finalists who have a complete draft of an Arabic-language feature film script will receive professional script development training prior to the Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) and participate in a mandatory script lab and on-site pitch event during the closing weekend of SFP. . The winner of the Pitching Forum will be awarded a joint grant from the Sharjah Art Foundation and an investment fund from SHAMS.
Sharjah Film Platform (SFP) is an annual festival that supports, empowers and celebrates the work of independent filmmakers and moving image artists in the region.
Interested applicants should submit their material to [email protected] by September 5.
A full draft of your script (minimum 75 pages) is essential, along with a financial plan and budget summary showing how the funds will be used.
The applicant must also have at least one director’s credit, which you can demonstrate by submitting a web link or movie file for a full movie you have directed. It can be a short film or a feature film, but it cannot be a trailer. Alternatively, if you are a non-directing screenwriter, you must have a director with at least one film on their CV who is attached to your project and committed to directing your film, if awarded. They must submit a sample of previous cinematic works.
In your application, you must also submit a one-page synopsis of your screenplay and biography.
