West Alabama lawmakers to discuss key issues at online forum

The Greater Tuscaloosa League of Voters will be hosting an online “Meet Your Legislators” forum this week.

The forum can be viewed live on LWV Greater Tuscaloosa’s YouTube channel from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday. A recorded version of the forum will be made available later on the League of Women Voters’ Facebook page, its YouTube channel and its website, www.lwvtuscaloosa.org

Members of the Western Alabama Legislative Delegation were invited to the forum to discuss the next regular session of the Alabama Legislature.

“While we believe it is dangerous to have a face-to-face forum during the pandemic, with Alabama’s 2022 legislature meeting early this year on January 11, we believe it is important. for our local legislative delegation to share their perspectives on key issues facing Alabama in the coming year, ”said Carol Prickett, spokesperson for the League of Women Voters of Greater Tuscaloosa.

Each legislator will have the opportunity to speak, followed by questions prepared by a moderator.

Lawmakers invited to the forum include Representative Cynthia Almond from District 63, Representative Chris England from District 70, Representative AJ McCampbell from District 71, Representative Kyle in South District 16, Representative Rodney Sullivan from District 61, Rich Wingo from District 62, Senator Gerald Allen from District 21, Senator Greg Reed from District 50 and Senator Bobby Singleton from District. 24.
